Preparing the New Year's table is not just a process of preparing food, but an opportunity to create a magical mood and please all family members. This is a way to show care and attention to loved ones, creating for them an atmosphere of warmth and comfort on New Year's Eve. Cooking New Year's dishes can also be an exciting activity for children, full of magic and discovery - the child will not only gain new skills, but also learn more about family traditions.

In this article, YokoSun has collected recipes for New Year's dishes that will appeal to all family members. You can also involve children in cooking: they will definitely love these simple dishes with an unusual presentation.

Edible Christmas balls

Ingredients:

  • Boiled chicken fillet (300 g)
  • Hard cheese (200 g)
  • Boiled potatoes (300 g)
  • Boiled eggs (2 pcs)
  • Sour cream (200 g)
  • Dill or parsley
  • Pitted olives
  • Decorations for balls to taste: sesame seeds, red or yellow peppers, beets, carrots, walnuts
  • Salt, pepper to taste

Finely chop the pre-cooked chicken fillet, boiled potatoes and hard cheese, or use a coarse grater. Mix the ingredients together and the base of the snack is ready.

Let's start preparing the dressing for the balls. In the classic version, you can use regular mayonnaise, but for the children's table we suggest replacing it with a healthier option. To prepare, you need boiled egg yolks and sour cream. You need to mash the yolks, mix them with sour cream, you can add mustard, lemon juice and seasonings to taste. Season the resulting salad of chicken, potatoes and cheese with this sauce.

Shape the salad into balls of the same diameter. You can color them in a variety of colors: green - by covering the balls with dill, red - using chopped peppers or pomegranate seeds, orange - using boiled carrots. You can use olives to make a base for attaching balls to a Christmas tree - you need to cut them in half and attach them to the top of an edible ball. A rope can be made from dill.

Pita bread Christmas trees

Ingredients:

  • Lavash (2 pcs)
  • Sour cream (100 g)
  • Avocado (1 piece)
  • Crackers in the form of straws
  • Red caviar or cherry tomatoes

Cut the pita bread into triangles, crackers will serve as the trunk for the New Year's tree - insert them into the base of the resulting triangles. Peel the avocado, mash it and add sour cream. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until smooth. You can add salt, pepper and other seasonings to taste.

Spread the resulting paste on the pita bread - and the Christmas tree is ready, all that remains is to decorate it. You can do this using caviar or cherry tomatoes, placing your chosen ingredient on the Christmas trees in the form of a garland.

Olivier with beef and homemade mayonnaise

Ingredients:

  • Boiled beef (300 g)
  • Chicken egg (5 pcs)
  • Pickled or pickled cucumbers (250 g)
  • Carrots (200 gr)
  • Potatoes (200 g)
  • Canned peas (200 g)
  • Olive oil (100 g)
  • Salt, pepper - to taste

Each family probably has its own special Olivier recipe. We invite you to take a fresh look at the salad, replacing traditional sausage with boiled beef, and mayonnaise with homemade dressing.

The cooking process remains virtually unchanged: you need to boil potatoes, carrots, and 3 chicken eggs. Then cut the ingredients into cubes, including the pre-cooked beef. Mix the resulting salad with chopped pickled cucumbers (by the way, they can also be replaced, for example, with capers or fresh cucumbers), as well as with peas.

Let’s start making homemade mayonnaise. You will need a blender to beat two eggs and mix them with olive oil until smooth. You can add mustard, lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste.

Fill the salad with the resulting mayonnaise - and the Olivier is ready!

Herring under a coat of beet mousse

Ingredients:

  • Beets (1 piece)
  • Gelatin (2 tablespoons)
  • Mayonnaise (can be replaced with homemade one)
  • Salted herring (1 piece)
  • Carrots (1 piece)
  • Potatoes (3 pcs)
  • Chicken egg (2 pcs)
  • Salt, pepper - to taste

Herring under a fur coat is a traditional dish on the New Year's table for Russians. But you can look at it in a new way. For example, by preparing a light mousse from beets.

The salad base recipe is traditional. It is necessary to boil eggs, beets, carrots and potatoes. When ready, set the beets aside and grate the remaining ingredients. Separate the herring and chop coarsely.

The already cooled beets must be cut, and the gelatin must be filled with cold water. Add mayonnaise, salt and pepper to taste to the beets and blend with a blender. It is necessary to add gelatin to the resulting mousse, preheat it, and beat again with a blender.

Now we “assemble” the dish. We lay out layers: potatoes, herring, eggs and carrots, greasing them with mayonnaise. And cover the salad with beet mousse, leveling with a spatula. Leave the dish in the refrigerator for an hour.

Bacon Spinach Rolls

Ingredients:

  • Smoked bacon (200 g)
  • Fresh or frozen spinach (200 g)
  • Cheese (80 g)
  • Butter
  • Baking parchment
  • Salt, pepper - to taste

Preparing this, at first glance, unusual dish is quite simple. First, heat the oil in a frying pan. Wash and drain the spinach and place it in the pan. Fry for a few minutes.

Mix sautéed spinach with pre-grated cheese and add salt and pepper to taste. The filling of the rolls is ready.

Place a few slices of bacon (2-3) overlapping on a cutting board. Place the filling on the edge of the resulting bacon ribbon and begin rolling the roll.

When all the rolls are ready, place them on parchment paper on a baking sheet. Bake the dish for about 15 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees.

Snowmen made from cottage cheese and coconut

Ingredients:

  • Cottage cheese of any fat content (400 g)
  • Honey (2 tablespoons)
  • Coconut flakes (4 tablespoons)
  • Almonds (6 pcs)
  • Dried fruits for decoration: prunes, dried apricots

You can make New Year's snowmen as a sweet table decoration. You need to mix cottage cheese with honey, and then form balls of three sizes from the resulting mass. The largest of them will serve as the base; place a medium-sized ball on it, and the smallest one on top. The snowman has already been created, now you can decorate it. Coconut shavings will give a snowy texture: roll the cottage cheese snowman in it. The nose can be made from almonds, the eyes and mouth from dried fruits.

Don't be afraid to experiment with New Year's dishes. This way, cooking can be a great way to spend time with your family. And its little members will be interested in participating in the preparation and creation of treats.
