Autumn is not the time for ordinary tea. It's the season for aromatic spices, pumpkin and sea buckthorn. Anything that can help create an atmosphere of comfort and support immunity. We are talking about unusual recipes for autumn drinks that will brighten up everyday life, give a boost of vitamins and pleasure to all family members.
1. Golden Milk or Turmeric Latte
The main ingredient of this unusual drink is turmeric, known for its beneficial properties. It contains organic acids, essential oils and a whole set of vitamins (E, K, C, B vitamins). Turmeric is believed to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. True, experts do not recommend abusing it in food, but in this spicy drink its content is within the norm.
Ingredients:
●Milk (cow or vegetable) - 1 glass.
●Turmeric - half a teaspoon.
●Ground cinnamon - ¼ teaspoon.
●Ground ginger - ¼ teaspoon.
●Ground black pepper - 1/8 teaspoon.
The preparation process is as simple as possible. The ingredients need to be mixed, placed in a saucepan or any other container and simmered over low heat for about 5 minutes, without bringing to a boil. Pour the resulting drink into a mug and enjoy the taste. By the way, it was no coincidence that black pepper was included in the ingredients - it improves the absorption of turmeric.
This drink is best drunk in the evenings, it has a calming effect and can have a positive effect on sleep.
2. Pumpkin hot chocolate
Autumn pumpkin is a storehouse of useful elements. It contains vitamins, antioxidants, and components that protect vision and the cardiovascular system. Pumpkin, by the way, is useful for pregnant women, experts say, due to its folic acid content. Children, of course, don’t really like pumpkin. But what if you offered them sweet and spicy pumpkin hot chocolate?
Ingredients:
●Milk - 300 ml.
●Pumpkin puree – 75 gr.
●Dark chocolate – 90 gr.
●Sugar or honey - 1-2 teaspoons.
●Ground vanilla – ½ teaspoon.
●Ground cinnamon - ¼ teaspoon.
●Grounded cloves - 1/8 teaspoon.
●Ground nutmeg - 1/8 teaspoon.
Mix the milk, pumpkin puree and spices in a saucepan and simmer the resulting drink base over low heat until it boils. Finely chop the dark chocolate and add it to the pan when the milk and puree begin to bubble. Continue cooking the chocolate until smooth, and then serve the resulting drink. Decorate it with whipped cream or marshmallows.
3. Sea buckthorn tea with orange
This simple recipe will give you an invigorating boost of vitamin C. During cold and flu season, just what you need. By the way, sea buckthorn contains much more vitamin C than oranges, sometimes even 10 times. In addition to vitamins, sea buckthorn contains magnesium, iron, potassium, phosphorus and many other useful substances. It is good for the brain and digestive system.
Ingredients:
●Sea buckthorn - 1 cup.
●Orange - 1 pc.
●Honey - 4 tablespoons.
●Cinnamon – 1 pc.
Set aside 2 tablespoons of sea buckthorn to decorate the drink, and mash the rest of the berries or grind them in a blender. Thoroughly peel the oranges and cut into half rings. Pour hot water over the sea buckthorn puree (about 1 liter is required), add orange, whole sea buckthorn berries, honey, cinnamon and other spices to taste. Leave the drink to steep for about 7 minutes, and then try the tea quickly.
By the way, this tea can be prepared for the winter. To do this, absolutely all the ingredients need to be crushed in a blender, pour the contents into small molds and put in the freezer. Then all that remains is to pour boiling water over the tea cube and enjoy its bright, sunny taste.
4. Cranberry punch
Cranberry, like sea buckthorn, is extremely rich in vitamin C. It strengthens the immune system and helps fight infections. In this recipe we will use cranberry juice to prepare English punch - a bright, warming and truly autumn drink.
Ingredients:
●Cranberry – 50 gr.
●Cranberry juice - 100 ml.
●Orange juice - 300 ml.
●Apple juice - 300 ml.
●Cinnamon – ½ tablespoon.
●Orange – ½ fruit.
In a saucepan you need to mix the juice: cranberry, orange and apple. Add cinnamon and other spices to taste, such as cloves, to the contents, cook over low heat for about 5 minutes, without bringing to a boil. Place cranberries and peeled orange slices on the bottom of serving glasses, then pour in the punch. The result is a legendary English drink that will definitely be interesting for children to try.
5. Cheese tea
What gourmets around the world can’t come up with! Thus, a new trend for cheese teas has emerged in Asia - this is regular green or black tea with a cap of cream cheese. The result is an unusual layered drink with a combination of tartness, sweetness and saltiness. While the trend continues to win the hearts of lovers of everything unusual, the recipe can be repeated at home - believe me, it will definitely be an unforgettable experience.
Ingredients:
●Brewed tea (green, black or fruit) - 1 glass.
●Milk - 40 ml.
●Heavy cream (from 30%) – 30 ml.
●Cream cheese - 2 tablespoons.
●Powdered sugar, salt - 1/8 teaspoon each.
While the tea is brewing, we immediately begin preparing the cheese cap. Milk, cheese and cream with the addition of powdered sugar need to be whipped using a blender. Then add a pinch of salt and beat again until a fluffy foam forms.
Pour the cooled tea into a glass with a high neck, and place the cheese cap on top without mixing the layers. This tea can be decorated with vanilla or cinnamon, add honey or use sweet syrups - a complete flight of imagination. You need to drink it in layers, without mixing, in order to feel the taste contrast.
Autumn is not the time for dull recipes and bad mood. Even though the weather outside may not always be sunny, the main thing is to feel warm and comfortable at home, close to your loved ones. And sometimes little things like unusual and bright drinks can lift your spirits.
